Respect

How do you respect someone’s privacy when you are invited to capture their most precious moments?

You may be forgiven for looking through my portfolio on here or my Instagram profile and thinking that I am obsessed with baby’s hands and feet. I mean, you’re not wrong, they are possibly my favourite details to photograph but I promise I do also take pictures of faces as well!

The thing is, I offer my clients the opportunity to choose what I have permission to post on here and social media. I think it’s a huge privilege to be invited in to your home and share moments with your family and so it’s important to me to make sure you feel secure and have the power.

The internet can be such a force for good but also makes people anxious. I want you to be safe in the knowledge that your photos will only go where you are happy for them to go. Can this have a slightly negative impact for me? Yes, because my newborn gallery may look a little sparse. Does that matter? No, because if you trust me I’m hoping you’ll come back!

What do you think, are you happy to share everything on your social media or do you hold certain things back?
